Thing to do in and around Victoria

There are loads of things to do on your visit to Victoria. Our city is uniquely located at the tip of an island, surrounded by ocean, mountains, lakes and forests. In the city you can enjoy culture and urban delights. You can also access whale watching, fishing, kayaking, and sailing and other ocean adventures. We even offer some of the world's best scuba diving with any number of wrecks to explore.
The Saanich Peninsula and the Metchosin and Sooke areas feature a lovely rural lifestyle and setting to be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. The rustic Gulf Islands lie within a short boat- or ferry-ride and reward visitors with beautiful rural settings and an abundance of art and crafts. Travel westward through Sooke and Jordan River to Port Renfrew to visit forests and stunning ocean beaches. Bicycle from downtown Victoria to Sidney or along the Sooke River with its falls and potholes to Leechtown - an abandoned gold-mining town in the middle of the forest where the Leech and Sooke Rivers and Wolfe Creek flow together into one. The nearby Cowichan Valley is a short drive over the stunning Malahat pass, boasting 5 or more vineyards and a cider works to visit and enjoy. You will also find many more arts and crafts in this vicinity.

WHALEWATCHING
Everyone should experience this thrill of a lifetime - Vancouver Island waters are home to 3 pods of Orka the killer whales. We highly recommend the premier whale watching group right here in Victoria - 5Star Whales - experienced family oriented professionals in the field - We would be happy to make a reservation for you - check them out at their website - www.5starwhales.com
